taste the rainbow
Christopher Kane cited his recent funding from the British Fashion Council as having enabled him to become more 'freed up to go out, get inspired, and really start doing what we want to do'. Wherever he has been, I want to go. Taking his entire Resort 2012 collection with me. Inspired by 'prisms and reflective fabrics', the collection explores the science of light and angles and the spectrum of colour that they create. The mix of severe lines and graduated hemlines with the burst of scientific colour is so completely beautiful to me.
shirts shirts shirts
I have a real obsession with shirts and an ever-increasing collection. It is claimed that a good shirt (particularly white) is a timeless staple for every woman. However, most shirts fail to be timeless because the details, collar, cut, cuff, length, change every season. A perfect excuse to continue to buy them. This is my wish list for this summer.

Friday i'm in love.. with a bargain.
It's sale time, officially. I'm not usually a bargain hunter, my attention span will not suffer the 138 pages of asos.com and I will now steer clear of central London until the Autumn stock comes in and the crowds disperse. I did however, spot this Peter Jensen dress in Urban Outfitters earlier this year. Lucinda's feature on Peter Jensen last week triggered my memory so I clicked over to UO and found it at a delightful 50% off. All I need now is £180 and somewhere lovely to wear it.

Hannah's I love you.
I once had the pleasure of meeting Hannah Marshall. Well, perhaps meet is too strong a word. Serve would be closer to the mark. However I have always been more interested in the collections of designers rather than the faces behind them and so I failed to recognise her. I complimented her on her dress and she told me it was a design by a Japanese duo she shared studio space with. It struck me who she was as soon as she left and the next day she was on the cover of Stylist magazine.
Her collections are as striking as she is. Architectural and strong, but surprisingly feminine. Needless to say, I love them.
Another Hannah I've just come across is Hannah Warner. I've always been pretty rubbish at accessorizing (Cass is best at this) but Hannah Warner's designs are really dark and unusual. Here is some evidence.

How to: Erdem Resort 2011
Lucinda and I love Erdem. There is no escaping this, and to be honest, we just don't want to. Many an hour has been spent laying in bed watching his shows stream online, and the Resort 2011 collection is no exception. It is rumoured that 'a wonderful book called Goodbye Picasso' found in the markets of Paris provided the inspiration for this collection, and looking at the Picasso style prints it is no wonder this opinion is doing the rounds.
Until I can afford (anything) Erdem, I look to the high street for inspired pieces. A recent find is this Hotel shirt dress at ASOS.com. The neat collar and swirling floral print is reminiscent of both his SS11 and resort collections.

Friday I'm in Love
With this entire look from Peter Jensen resort 2012, not to mention the entire collection.
Stupidly I haven't been paying much attention to Peter Jensen, but I am really taken with this collection. It's far more grown up than I originally took the label to be. It focuses on the smarter and more tailored side of the Seventies revival. A trend, which, until now, bore no interest for me.
Also I'm addicted to my new Chubby Stick from Clinique. I've been searching for a pretty raspberry lipstick for Summer and the Chunky Cherry is perfect, not least because it's more a lip balm than a lipstick!

Friday I'm in Love...
Robert Smith sang 'I don't care if Mondays blue, Tuesdays grey and Wednesday too' which is pretty fitting for this weeks miserable weather. With Friday though, brings the first issue of our weekly 'Friday I'm in Love' feature. This week I'm declaring my love for the beautiful and dramatic accessories of Fannie Schiavoni. A LCF graduate and Giles Deacon intern, Fannie's first collection was bought by Browns in the same year she received the celebrated New Gen award from the British Fashion Council. Hugely deserved, her chainmail accessories are jewellery for the folk who like to super size. Much like the material harnesses of Norwegian Wood, the pieces are completely transforming and scene stealing.

Wish List...
First post - running late. I'm hoping to make it up with my first offering. http://www.funkis.com/ is an Australian brand who wear their Swedish influence on their sleeves. Borrowing the Swedish word 'funktionalism' in name and ethos, their collections are a nod to the functional style developed in the early 20th century. I first saw these clogs on the lovely feet of Susie Lau, she has them in gold. I have since been dreaming of them and will happily go without food throughout July to have them on my feet. Luckily for me, Funkis ship internationally otherwise it would be a long and hungry 6 months saving for a plane ticket to Oz.

Wish List One.
COS has the perfect range of trousers in. I wish they would all move house to a one bed flat in South East London. Mine preferably.
